Buzz's Bake Sale 2011 @ Cruzan!!

The Cruzan Ampitheatre in West Palm Beach was Rocking all-day Saturday. Buzz 103.1 put on quite a show with Hinder and Everlast, but Seether and Chevelle were just awesome. Not to mention, last minute show-stealers Awolnation, (seen above) who crushed it and will continue to rock shows around the county.
Chevelle showed up like they had something to prove. They've come through the town of my alma mater before and I've never taken the time to see them. That was a huge mistake.
When they have the room, they play like a big venue band. and when they don't get the action they deserve, they let you know, with The Red & The Clincher.
They were definitely the band that out-played what I was expecting. They were the perfect lead in to Seether, who really took things to the next level.
The South African rock quartet had everyone's attention and never let go. The opened with their classic 'Disclaimer' set (Gasoline, Fine Again, Pig, Broken) and just slammed right through their hits, one after another. Remedy, Fake It, Country Song.  The energy was the highest of the night and was the act that received the best ovation and demand for an encore.
The Act that made the biggest impression was Awolnation. They replaced Staind as a head lining act and played like the Rock Stars that show up late, play a perfect show, party all night, then do it all again the next day. The Five-piece Rock/Jazz/Electric group from California that resemble The Darkness on their best day and lesser known bands on the rise such as the Foals and Minus The Bear. The Bottom-Line was that everyone in the audience was jamming out like they were the Foo Fighters. Truly an act to be remember that should just be the beginning for a bright and solid band with a lot of kick.
Next weekend the Trans-Siberian Orchestra visits the Cruzan Amphitheater, and March 9th DropKick Murhpy's come through West Palm. Stay Tuned!
