Alternatively, the Intro to Digital Cameras SLR workshop whisks novice shutterbugs on a seven-hour spree, including a one-hour lunch break, through the lens-driven world of SLR digital photography. Each workshop addresses both camera and computer skills, instructing photo trainees in the use of their camera's features, file formats such as RAW files, and proper set-up for various shooting situations. The workshop also covers the computer aspects of digital photography, such as downloading images, properly preparing image files for email and the Web, and digitally replacing red eyes with pinwheel eyes. Palm Beach Photographic Centre encourages participants who own a camera to bring it with them, along with its manual, but cameras can also be rented for an additional fee.
